Lladró launched this special commemorative piece coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948). The sculpture is an excellent likeness of the great political leader and thinker, frequently referred to as described as the Father of the Indian nation. Lladrós artists show the non-violence leader walking, in a tribute to a thinker who never ceased to tread the road to peace. His slight build, his characteristic austerity and his uniquely powerful personality are faithfully reflected in this glazed porcelain piece.
